Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Coordinator-Point of Care Testing, the Point of Care Technical Specialist maintains instrument and reagent inventory, processes data, and reports on all lab testing that occurs outside of the department. Assures compliance with all requirements of licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Interacts regularly with nursing and clinical staff, and involved in training and competency testing for nursing. Works with a dynamic team of 3 point of care technical specialists.
REQUIREMENTS: Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist. Less than 1 year of experience. MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP). If eligible, must pass ASCP exam within 1 year.
