JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the unit manager for the main Operating Room at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. This role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations, fiscal and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by their specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned units: General Operating Room (GOR). Position is 50% staffing and 50% administration.
SCHEDULE: This is an evening shift position.
UNIT SUMMARY: The General OR (GOR) and the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) OR are composed of 23 Operating Rooms. The GOR does around 500+ surgeries per month, including a variety of cases including General Surgery, Neuro, Robotics, Plastics, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ENT, Gyn, Gyn Oncology, General Oncology, Vascular, Thoracic, Spines, Cystoscopy, Urology, Laparoscopic, Bariatric, Endoscopy, and more. The Operating Room has over 100 FTE's in staffing.
- BSN degree required; Master's preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required
- Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN) and American Heart Association CPR Certification
- PALS & ACLS within 6 months of hire (if applicable to the unit)
- Must be a member of a Professional Organization.
